Summary
Here's what the Abridge option looks like.
Notice alerts are first listed at the top of the email.
You have a choice of building the Group under your personal account or directly in the building account.
If the Group is built in your personal account, then add the building User account and make it an Owner too.
In this case I was logged in as wsp197-sibley@irisbuildings.com. (This means you will, for practical purposes, you need to use a separate browser to avoid being logged out of you current browser's Google account.)
Clicking on My Groups produced the following. Notice that the account WSP197... has only 1 group. Further it is not subscribed to any other Groups (but it could be).
Clicking on Browse All produces a list of all the groups you are participating in (that is, are a member of)
Click on the post name to see the details. Or click on "View all topics" to go directly to all Alert posts.
I created a dedicated web page for Alerts. Click on the air handler of choice - which is a link to only those posts.
It's easy to build links in New Sites. I was able to capture the link that did a search for a given topic - in this example "AHU-02", and make it a URL link in New Sites (above). The end result selects only those Alerts of interest - without the complications of using the Group.
I also created a Details tab under Alerts to quickly view all the Alerts
Clicking on it brings up all the Alerts
I'm still working on Energy Optimization Alerts. Basically all Alerts, of any type, are collected into a single Group. You find the type of alert (or report) of interest by doing a Search (These links don't work yet - I still need to write some Mango alerts that look at energy usage issues.)
Reports are embedded PDFs. Multiple PDFs (or any files) can be quickly embedded.
I also added some other reports at the bottom.
I also demo'd how to present Trane Reports (which I'll put into SLP).
I even included the Trane videos (which were attach to Jeff Seewald's email to me yesterday).
Well, take a look at it so far with this link. It isn't possible (yet) to completely hide the Google Sites.
The clever part is that Group allows a user to subscribe to a given Topic. Below I've clicked on the tiny downbutton just under "scheduled" to pop up a list of options. One option is "Email updates to me". This is pretty cool in that any user (need a Google account, but...) can also receive the same report at almost the same time it is delivered to the Group inbox.
I like the email attachment idea because it's easy to see and use it (but without the graphics operational - they only show up when run in Excel)
Still, clicking on the image brings up the SS within a window (at least when running gmail).
If you need a more detailed view then open the image in Excel. But most of the time you can just scroll across to see what's going on.
